IMPROVING PERFORMANCE WITH A NEW ENTERPRISE FRAMEWORK FOR ICI'S EUROPEAN WEBSITES
With Salmon's support, ICI Paints’ European websites benefited from a new design framework that's inspiring its customers.
ICI Paints, the world’s leading provider of decorative paints and performance coatings, wanted to reduce costs, improve performance and facilitate a deeper brand engagement with its customers.
The company designed its new website framework alongside Salmon’s experienced developers. It’s written in Java and provides common functional components including browse, navigation, login and registration, shopping basket and mail handler, as well as Rich Internet Applications.
www.dulux.co.uk was also given a new look and feel by Salmon as well as enhanced Web 2.0 functionality. Customers can build a scrapbook of colour swatches; upload and decorate their own rooms; receive relevant “How To” guides at the same time as paint colour options; and create their own shopping lists of brochures and swatches to print and take to their local retailer.
ICI Paints can now differentiate their business and respond to customers’ demands and make changes quickly and simply. Web page interactivity, speed, functionality and usability have all increased, and the company has seen a significant improvement in performance and reliability as a result.
“We will continue to work with Salmon to enhance the site in order to drive online browsers into offline buyers.”
