A NEW MOBILE FRIENDLY WEBSITE HELPS BAKKER.COM ENGAGE WITH A YOUNGER GENERATION

Bakker.com is considered the leading authority in gardening and garden accessories in Europe with over 70 years' experience in its industry. Bakker appointed Eperium (now a Salmon company) to develop a strategy that would engage new target groups from all over the world with inspirational content offered in several languages. This brief also included focus on a mobile friendly ecommerce site to appeal to a younger international generation.

The deadline for the completion of the project was ambitious, but lean methodology helped Eperium to overcome this with confidence. At the end, 20 different B2C channels were created for every country using the enterprise Intershop 7.5 platform – with each in responsive design for an optimal online experience.

The new ecommerce website was developed using an agile framework with the site being implemented using the Enterprise Intershop 7.5 platform. This meant that the design could be fully responsive across all devices. With the introduction of a web style guide Eperium was able to reduce the delivery time by 25%.
