Salmon launches dedicated Magento Practice to meet Customer Demand
Tom Cain, Head of Salmon’s Magento practice talks about the reasons for developing the new practice.
So, Tom can you explain why Salmon has established a Magento Practice?
The number one reason is customer demand. Magento Enterprise Edition 2.0 is now recognised as a compelling platform for medium to large enterprises who are looking to deliver engaging shopping experiences across multiple devices and scale securely as the business grows.
It’s one of the fastest-growing ecommerce platforms in the world right now and we’re registering interest from companies that traditionally would have seen it as a platform for smaller businesses.
We now have a significant level of expertise and a unique a development methodology, so we believe it is an appropriate investment for us to establish a dedicated Magento practice. Over the last few years we’ve defined and delivered a number of solutions with Magento for clients across several sectors.
The practice reflects Salmon’s commitment to providing the best digital commerce solutions for our clients. A dedicated Magento practice complements our existing IBM WebSphere and SAP/Hybris expertise. The Magento platform’s innovative capabilities combined with our proven methodology are already delivering exceptional results for our clients and we are delighted to be recognised by Magento with Gold Partner status.
What is the new development methodology that you mention?
It’s fast and agile. We’re turning traditional methodologies on their heads. The Salmon approach combines our in-house expertise with cutting edge tooling and the flexibility of the Magento platform, allowing us to rapidly build and deploy a website in a collaborative agile manner. We can demonstrably take a client from concept to launch in approximately twelve weeks.
Once launched, clients then have the option to use our Insights analytics package to grow their business using real-time data to drive continuous optimisation of the customer journey.
What Magento projects have you launched recently?
Salmon has extensive experience in defining and delivering Magento solutions for clients both in the UK and internationally, sectors include retail, B2B and Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG).
Salmon has already deployed the Magento platform for B2C clients including the retailer Habitat.
Salmon upgraded Habitat’s web platform to create a responsive site as part of the retailer’s multichannel strategy. As a result Habitat has seen strong conversion uplift as a result and is now working with Salmon on data-driven continuous optimisations.
In B2B we worked with a well known wine distributor, to deliver an ecommerce solution allowing businesses to manage their wine orders online.
In the CPG sector we’ve launched a solution for an international FMCG brand in addition to Magento-based solutions across our International markets.
Tell us more about yourself and the team
In my five years as part of the Salmon Delivery team, I’ve delivered high quality ecommerce websites for a number of clients across B2C and B2B, including Argos and Premier Farnell. As the Head of Magento practice, I’m responsible for driving the growth of Salmon’s Magento arm to ensure that we offer our customers the flexibility that Magento provides alongside the ecommerce maturity for which Salmon has long been known.
I lead a growing team of dedicated Magento-trained professionals offering the range of skills that enable our customers to get the most from their Magento 2 deployments. The experienced team builds solutions that represent great examples of innovation, offer outstanding customer journeys, are beautifully designed, and support our customers’ business vision.
